Our client is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions company, providing secure electronic payments to their customers.  A Sr. Linux Systems Admin with the experience and ability to oversee high-volume transaction processing and production operations is needed for a 24/7-availability position in Austin or Houston.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Control transaction processing:
    • Maintaining, operating, configuring, tuning and securing standard/custom apps
  • Manage all critical infrastructure operations on a daily basis
  • Monitor Alerting Systems (Splunk, Nagios)
  • Analyze (ensure peak performance):
    • environment capacity, performance, and sustainability
  • Resolve problems:
    • External Vendors and Internal Departments
  • Test Disaster Recovery Plan and Business Continuity Plan

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 24/7 on-call availability + after-hours (flexible hours are possible)
  • Linux/RedHat installation (7+ years)
  • Load Balancers:  Citrix NetScaler, etc. (7+years)
  • VB, Shell scripting, PowerShell (7+ years)
  • Log Aggregator:  Splunk/Nagios advanced administration/configuration (5+years)
  • RHEL versions 5 and 6, Apache, OpenSSL
  • Document in Software-as-a-Service (SaaS):  high-traffic transactions/operations
  • Create:  diagrams, processes, and procedures
  • Scripting Automation
  • VMware ESX 4 and 5
  • Storage technologies (HP P4000) and blade chassis (HP C7000)

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Network/Applications monitoring tools (7+ years)
  • Networking/OS level security:
    • NIST, CIS, NSA, etc.
    • security events
    • Postgres DB, heartbeat, drbd database setup
  • Previous financial environment
  • Building apps, dashboards and reports
  • Customizing Scripts
  • Analytics/troubleshooting
  • Windows 2008 / 2003 System Administration
  • Supporting Active Directory, IIS, and mixed Linux/Windows environment
  • Familiarity with Virtualization Technologies
