The Sr. Staff QA Engineer will provide product quality/reliability to ensure customer satisfaction.  The ideal candidate will possess a working background is SW + HW, Networking, Testing, and Development.  This is not a heavy automation testing type role.  Salary range = $80-$105k.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Networking:  Setup/Configure/Maintain network devices within the lab
  • Network Management
  • Test embedded systems
  • Client/Server applications
  • Perform manual feature/system testing on HW platforms and web‐based management applications
  • Create/Execute test plans:  schedule from lean documentation with automation in mind
  • Analyze test results:
    • write defect reports
    • work closely with Development to isolate and reproduce defects
    • track defect reports, issues and resolutions
  • Develop requirements for product features being tested
    • in‐depth understanding of the functionality, usability, and performance
  • Develop SW/Scripts to automate and solve operational issues/processes
  • Learn new technologies, features, and platforms (on own initiative)


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • BA in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Software + Hardware
  • Software Testing (5-10 years)
  • Network Management
  • Embedded Appliances
  • Cisco
  • Scripting
  • Perl or other automation/scripting technologies (preferred)
  • Develop/Execute Test Plans for software features on network devices or network management platforms
  • IP enterprise networks:  designing, building, provisioning and testing
  • Analytical//Troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to adapt, improve and extend the effectiveness of new test concepts or approaches
  • Comfortable working in Linux environment
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to write concise defect reports
  • Configuring enterprise switches, routers, firewalls and servers (preferred)
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate:  CCNA (highly desirable)
  • Testing web applications (preferred)
  • Network security and AAA protocols: RADIUS & TACACS (preferred)
