About this Position
Social Media firm in Downtown Austin is looking for a Senior QA Engineer to work with their Agile Development Team.  Objective of this position is to size, implement and execute test plans by utilizing automation frameworks and testing techniques.  The ideal candidate for this role would be a master coder, communicator, and planner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prep test plan, procedure documentation, and execute Test Automation Scripts
  • Define test criteria in collaboration with stakeholders and product owners by synthesizing loose requirements
  • Test the following system components:
    • (isolated) utilities at various stages of integration
    • web application
    • databases
    • APIs
    • Automated Tests:
      • author, debug, and execute
      • post-run analysis
      • report results and defect reports
    • Develop/modify automation frameworks as needed
    • Prioritize defects
    • Reproduce
    • Analyze causes

Abilities

  • Testing/Quality
  • Designing/Planning development of test software
  • QA processes/concepts:  test case prep and testing methodologies
  • Automated software testing environment (3+ years)
  • QA experience (5+ years)
  • Test automation experience beyond WYSIWYG tools
  • Create/maintain automated functional tests in a scripting language
  • Languages: PHP, Java, Python, C#, VB Script, or Perl
  • Execute tests in a unit test framework
  • Implement tests in an open source automation framework: Selenium/Watir, Fit/Fitnesse
  • Understand web applications: HTML, PHP, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, HTTP protocol, cookies/sessions, browser differences, web servers.
  • Execute queries and interact with relational data with SQL and database fundamentals
  • Unix: use a shell and file system to maintain environment and troubleshoot problems
  • Continuous integration
  • Root Cause Analysis
  • Agile is a plus.
